    From 5 December 2020, the new Eiger Express tricable aerial cableway will take you from the Grindelwald terminal to the Eiger Glacier station in just 15 minutes. With a direct transfer option you will be on the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe 47 minutes faster than before. More time for you to experience the majestic backdrop with breathtaking views at 3,454 metres above sea level and enjoy attractions such as the Ice Palace, Alpine Sensation and Snow Fun Park.

    The state-of-the-art 26-seat cabins even take you very close to the north face of the Eiger, 1,800 metres high. After your arrival at the Eiger Glacier, the Panorama Hall awaits you with a fascinating view of the mountains.

    Lightning fast on the Lauberhorn descent

    After only 15 minutes of travel, you alight from the Eiger Express , put on your skis or snowboard and can immediately enjoy the first descent to the Wixi chairlift. This will take you directly to the starting hut of the world-famous Lauberhorn downhill run, the longest race track of the Ski World Cup.

    In summer you can start your tours from the Eiger Glacier mountain station 2,328 m above sea level on the numerous hiking trails and explore the most beautiful places in the Bernese Oberland.

  • Grindelwald Terminal

    The state-of-the-art terminal in Grindelwald is the heart of the V-Cableway. From here the Eiger Express tricable cabins travels to the Eiger Glacier and the 10-passenger gondola to the Männlichen.

    The new railways plus the direct connection to the new "Grindelwald Terminal" station of the Bernese Oberland Railway make it possible: you can reach the ski area and the Jungfraujoch 47 minutes faster than before from all Swiss cities.

    Much more than a valley station: the terminal is also the new shopping centre in the region. International top brands and Swiss quality products leave no wish unfulfilled - from bars of chocolate to exclusive premium watches. If you are hungry after a long day of skiing, you will find a wide selection of delicacies in the Store.

    Don’t own your own skis? Forgotten your gloves? Not a problem, the sports store is there for you. There you can rent all winter sports equipment from ski boots to helmets. Various ski depots make it easy for you to store your equipment in convenient proximity to the cable cars.

    New car park with 1,000 spaces

    Parking space problem solved: If you arrive by car, there is a car park with 1,000 spaces - as well as a parking guidance system with real-time info. As with public transport, the parking garage is directly connected to the terminal.

    Shuttle bus to Firstbahn railway

    Comfortable and fast: you can reach the Firstbahn railway directly by shuttle bus from the terminal. You will thus save time and have the opportunity to visit both ski areas of Grindelwald and Wengen.

  • New aerial gondola Grindelwald-Männlichen

    Time to say goodbye: in 1978, the old Grindelwald-Männlichen aerial gondola was the world's longest passenger mountain railway with a total distance of 6.2 kilometres. Now by the end of December 2019 it will be replaced by a state-of-the-art 10-passenger aerial gondola as part of the V-Cableway project.

    The new building brings enormous benefits, especially for all winter sports enthusiasts: 111 gondolas will double the transport capacity from 900 to 1,800 guests per hour. Time-consuming queuing will be a thing of the past. And you will get to the summit station at 2,225 metres above sea level faster too: the journey time is reduced from 30 to 19 minutes.

    Less wasted time, more fun on the slopes

    The new Grindelwald-Männlichen aerial gondola, like the Eiger Express tricable aerial cableway, starts from the joint Grindelwald terminal. Thanks to the direct connection to the new "Grindelwald Terminal" station of the Bernese Oberland Railway as well as the offer of shuttle buses, you can move even faster between the different ski areas. This means: more time on the slopes for you.

New trains for Jungfrau Railway, Wengernalp Railway and Bernese Oberland Railway

Comfortable and already in use: as part of the V-Cableway project, Jungfrau Railway, Wengernalp Railway and Bernese Oberland Railway have been equipped with new trains. The round trip from Interlaken to the Jungfraujoch is possible every half hour. The shorter intervals from the Eiger Glacier and Kleine Scheidegg stations mean you reach the Jungfraujoch faster.

The Wengernalp Railway is running six new panorama trains every 30 minutes on the Lauterbrunnen-Kleine Scheidegg route. From 2021, a Wengen shuttle will be available.
